Overwhelmed - SashaQ

Q. Talk about it! I feel overwhelmed when / because:

When I think about everything that's going on in the world today, not to mention what's going on in my life.

Q. Talk about your feeling overwhelmed in the past and how far back it goes.

I think it affects me when I think about life and all the injustices. What's the point? Why would I choose to come here? (if in fact it was me who decided to have this experience) and what is the lesson of all of this?

Q. What other emotions come up? For example, feelings confused, lost, discouraged etc.

Definitely confused, lost and discouraged, alone, afraid. Don't really know what the point of all of this is. Does anyone have answers? Religion has a horrific past, governments are corrupt etc..

Q. In order to make something better understood it sometimes helps to organize and prioritize. What is most important for you at this time? Make a list according to importance and if other emotions come up look them up as well. You're on the right track to clarifying what you want which will help you to feel more in control of your life.

I think the most important thing is to connect with others who really see what's going on instead of the typical person who spends most of their time running around trying to forget about what's really going on and just trying to do like everyone else. I need to share with people who can help me see the other side of things cause it really isn't that obvious.

Q. Einstein said that we cannot solve existing problems with the same mind that created them. How can you look at your situation from a different perspective in order to find a feasible solution?

I can stop listening to the media and limit my world to a 5 block radius (more or less) and try to focus on being happy.

Q. How does feeling this way impact/affect your life

It brings me down when I look into it too much. It makes me wonder what the hell I'm doing here. It makes me think that if I'm not doing everything to keep myself busy (and distracted) I'm left with the reality that I see more clearly because I have time to try and figure out why this place is so incredibly insane! And the gods that so many people like to believe in are so incredibly absent.

Hey Sasha, I know what you mean. It's like nobody thinks about those things or they simply don't want to talk about those things, prefering to focus on the positive (or dirstraction) while the whole place falls apart. Kind of ironic but it seems to be the norm. I wish there was an alternative to being in this reality. I think that's the appeal of money cause you can get away from it all whenever you want. Of course that has it's downside too. I don't know what the point of this life experience is (it can't all just be about conforming) but there's got to be another reality that makes more sense. It's nice to think about. K-PAX is a good book, talks about just that. Hope it goes better Sasha
