Sports Racism

If you have been watching the news recently, you cannot avoid noticing that sports racism is one of the big topics these days. The NBA has deiced to kick Donald Sterling out because of his racist comments to his girlfriend on an audio recording leaked to the media. A Barcelona soccer defender had a banana thrown at him as he took a corner kick in a match at Villarreal. He decided to eat the banana and then he took his corner kick. Some Boston Bruins' players and fans tweeted that such individuals were ignorant, racist and classless towards Montreal Canadiens’ P.K. Subban.

Some people think this is not a big deal but most people are disgusted by such stupid behavior. What do you think?

I think people should look into where there narrow minded thinking came from, but that would take a lot of therapy and most people don't have time to get into all of that. It's too bad that these events happen but hopefully it brings it to the forefront so that we can collectively ask ourselves what's going on. The NBA handed out a stiff sentence and I hope it will be enforced so that it sends a message to others that this will not be tolerated, not just at a high profile level but in our communities as well.
