Weird - janauni by janauni - Thursday, April 10, 2014 - 16:30

Q. How does feeling this way impact/affect your life

I don't know and it feels like just that, like I don't know. Maybe tomorrow it will become more clear but it seems right now like I don't know anything, like all my questions don't have answers and the ones I thought were right aren't anymore. It feels like I just got here on this planet and I'm wondering what the heck is going on. Seems kinda insane to tell the truth. Oh well, maybe it is all insane and I'll catch the next flight outta here....

relationship conundrum by janauni - Thursday, April 10, 2014 - 16:27

I was just wondering about the relationship conundrum. It seems that it's both a blessing and a curse. It brings out the best and worse but I still wonder if we're meant to be monogamous? Are we meant to only be with one mate/person for as long as possible. It seems kinda weird to me... that we are supossed to evolve with only one person in a couple/relationship. Pros and cons to both I suppose but boy are there ever a lot of people experimenting with other types of relationships. Makes you wonder if the the christian model, one partner for life is really good for all?

What Are Emotions – Feelings? by kele - Wednesday, April 2, 2014 - 11:19

What are emotions? What are feelings?
“Woke up in the morning, I felt tired and desperately needed a cup of coffee. The coffee woke me up a bit. It was a beautiful, sunny day outside. I really wish I could go out and enjoy the sunshine but I can’t -simply because I have to go to work. I felt so disappointed. During the day I was happy because work kept me busy. Work helps me forget about other things in my life. I felt excited.

Overwhelmed - SashaQ by SashaQ - Saturday, March 22, 2014 - 11:17

Q. Talk about it! I feel overwhelmed when / because:

When I think about everything that's going on in the world today, not to mention what's going on in my life.

Q. Talk about your feeling overwhelmed in the past and how far back it goes.

I think it affects me when I think about life and all the injustices. What's the point? Why would I choose to come here? (if in fact it was me who decided to have this experience) and what is the lesson of all of this?

Q. What other emotions come up? For example, feelings confused, lost, discouraged etc.

Definitely confused, lost and discouraged, alone, afraid. Don't really know what the point of all of this is. Does anyone have answers? Religion has a horrific past, governments are corrupt etc..

Doctor with no Empathy by Earl - Wednesday, March 5, 2014 - 12:50

Recently, I was been referred to see an anesthesiologist to assess if I am eligible for a very specific and relatively new surgery - cutting a nerve on my spine to treat my lower back pin. I have no idea if this a good idea or not!  I was very happy with our health system until l met this "doctor" - an anesthesiologist that I was referred to.  The first visit was at the Burnaby hospital. He spent near an hour with my wife and I giving us a medical lesson about the human spine which he mentioned we would not understand unless we completed a 5 year medical program.  And he told us that we are so lucky to have his advise and consultation because usually his patient only have 5 minutes per visit.  Anyway, I was in excruciating pain and he started to play the role of a psychiatrist.

Doubtful - janauni by janauni - Friday, February 28, 2014 - 10:38

Q. Talk about it! I feel doubtful when / because:

when I don't usually get the results that I'm looking for, which leads to more doubt

Q. "When in doubt, do nothing, it is better do refrain from action than to do something you are unsure of". You are between uncertainty and certainty. Let things become more clear. Talk about what's at stake.

I might be uncertain of the results that I want. I'm not sure if I want to be around a couple of people. I'm not sure if they're good influences for me to evolve with.

Q. Who is involved and what are some possible scenarios?

well we get along well if the conversation is superficial, about everyday things but when I talk about deeper issues they seem to want to influence the way I handle things without listening to what I want to say or do.

Stressed - SashaQ by SashaQ - Monday, February 24, 2014 - 09:53

Q. Talk about it! I fell stressed when / because:

Yes I feel stressed. There's a lot of pressure on people in general but me in particular. It seems that I can never take a break, always something that needs to be done even when I'm supposed to be relaxing things pop up that I've forgotten and then I have more things that need to be done/

Q. Talk about ways that you can make yourself feel more relaxed about what you're going through? For example, going for a walk helps to take your mind off of troubling situations because some of your focus is now on where you are going and the things that are around which lessens the intensity.

Odd - talker8 by talker8 - Saturday, February 15, 2014 - 12:47

Q. How does feeling this way impact/affect your life

It's like I was dropped here and I'm looking around as though I were in another culture wondering what the heck is going on...

Q. Describe your actions and the situation you were in when you first felt the emotion?

I think I just woke up this way. It's kinda like when you make a realization about something except I'm looking at my life thinking what did all those experiences mean?

Q. If this is a feeling that is not pleasant, how would you like to feel ideally? State the feeling and what it means to you.

I would like to have a better understanding around the why's of my life, like why did I do or pursue certain experiences and how they relate to where I am now and why I chose to not participate in others that would have clearly been beneficial...

Selfish - janauni by janauni - Friday, February 7, 2014 - 11:23

Q. Talk about it! I feel selfish when / because:

I put myself before others, as in doing what I want to do instead of doing what I think I should be doing or what others want me to do even though a lot of times they're not happy doing it either.

Q. You are thinking about yourself which is a nice thing to do. It's when you don't consider others that sometimes if doesn't feel so good. Why do you think your needs are more important that the needs of others?

I just think that if I'm going to be happy I have to do what makes me happy. If I'm doing it for others then I'm not really happy only pretending to be.

Q. Talk about your history with putting your interests ahead of others. Where do you think it started?

Obsessive - admin by admin - Wednesday, February 5, 2014 - 09:07

Q. Talk about it! I feel obsessive when / because:

Obsessed could also mean being focused on something that could lead to a further understanding of what it is that we want. If we also ask ourselves what it is that the object of our obsession gives us, we can think about other feelings that come up. If I'm obsessed with chocolate, it's because it could give me something other than the taste. It could create a feeling of comfort or it could be a reward for something accomplished. Obsession tells us that we want to feel something that we think a person or object possesses. Reflect on what other feelings come up and how you would feel if you had the object of your obsession. Is it a feeling of control, comfort, security, power etc. Look those feelings up as well and incorporate who you want to feel into 'Who I want to become'.

Alive - SashaQ by SashaQ - Tuesday, February 4, 2014 - 10:09

Q. Talk about it! I feel alive when / because:

Life is good and I get to talk about it here. Great idea!

Q. What is it about your lifestyle, diet, self care that contributes to your feeling alive?

I think it's about attitude, there are up days and down days. Make the most of the up ones!

Q. How did the past challenges in your life help you to better appreciate the feeling of being alive? This is also an important part of who you are cause without these experiences you would not be here today.

Well I think that goes back to the down days. Life sucks at certain points and I don't know how I pulled myself out of it sometimes but here I am and I just don't want to go back there so I try to stay here.

Q. How does feeling this way impact/affect your life

Demoralised - Herenow by Herenow - Monday, February 3, 2014 - 09:08

Q. Talk about it! I feel demoralised when / because:

When I work towards a certain goal and it goes nowhere

Q. Taking action by your willingness to explore what's going on in your life is a step toward being more empowered. Try to go back and find out when these feelings started building up to where they are now. Is there a pattern such as the same people, similar circumstances or surroundings?

It seems to be that when I concentrate my efforts on getting something done the result is not what I wanted.

Q. What do you hope for and what impact will it have on your life and others?

I want to know what I was meant to do in life so that I can focus on one thing instead of the next thing that might work...

Proactive - anontoo by anontoo - Friday, January 31, 2014 - 10:05

Q. Talk about it! I feel motivated when / because

when I feel like I've got a head start on things, when I get things done before they're supposed to be and do a good job in the process

Q. How did you get to the thought that led to the self-talk, that led to your actions

It doesn't always happen but the way it worked this time is to do a bit every day so that it doesn't get to the last minute where I'm scrambling

Q. Where will those actions lead you

Hopefully it'll lead me to a job that I really want but even if it's not this job then I have a resume that's made for the same kind of job

Q. Who are the people in your life that motivated you

Disconnected - ralph by ralph - Tuesday, January 28, 2014 - 15:48

Q. I feel disconnected when / because...

I'm not up on the latest electronic gadgetry other than basic computer skills

Q. Within the definition is a possible clarification of the ambivalence, 'separated, detached'. If you feel disconnected, what are you separated from? What are the two or more parts that pull at you?

It seems that there's a whole other world going on out there and I'm just not plugged into it. Like talking about a TV show like the Simpsons and I don't know what they're talking about...

Q. What is the feeling associated with your feeling disconnected? For example, feeling alone, lost, confused etc.

I feel alone I guess because there are less and less people like me who don't understand the cell phone, computer era very well.

Determined - admin by admin - Wednesday, January 22, 2014 - 10:25

Q. Talk about it! I feel certain when / because:

Feeling determined is a good emotion to build on when it gets you closer to creating the person you most resonate with. Self expression is feeling what you're about, understanding what makes you tick, with all your talents, abilities and unique experiences that have brought you to this point in your life. It's also about understanding that the less desirable experiences that you've had also contribute to who you are now. Wisdom is knowing that it only takes happiness in this moment to appreciate the past instead of seeing it as a hindrance that endlessly holds you back. Build on what makes you feel good, it's a powerful force. The better it gets, the better it gets!

Wrong - admin by admin - Tuesday, January 21, 2014 - 11:31

Q. Talk about it! I feel wrong when / because: 'Not true', 'not right'. Wrong is a relative term. If you're 'wrong' that means someone or some other way of doing things is 'right'. But if it makes you feel bad then the situation is 'wrong' for you and you need to find out what makes you feel 'right' despite what others think or say! Trying to make people change by making them feel 'wrong' shows you that those people are coming from the wrong place. They believe (usually with good intent) that they know what's best for you when the only person who knows that is you! (people who truly feel good about themselves don't try to make others feel bad about themselves. How you feel begins from within.) Being true to yourself is feeling 'right', whatever that means for you.

Uncertain - talker8 by talker8 - Saturday, January 18, 2014 - 10:50

Q. Talk about it! I feel uncertain when / because:

I don't know if what I want is really what I want?

Q. "When in doubt, do nothing, it is better do refrain from action than to do something you are unsure of". You are between uncertainty and certainty. Let things become more clear. Talk about what's at stake.

I have two scenarios that I need to choose from and neither gets me excited. One is having more freedom but in a different place with no familiar faces around to enjoy it with and the other is less freedom (same old routine) more money and familiar faces to appreciate it. It seems as though I'm stuck.

Q. Who is involved and what are some possible scenarios?

I don't know what means more to me adventure or stability and the known. Both have their pros and cons.

thoughts by talker8 - Saturday, January 18, 2014 - 10:42

I was just wondering what people think about the never ending stream of thoughts that come and go in our minds. It seems to me that the focus of our day or life drastically affects what's going on for us. If I'm in a bad mood in the morning then I seem to focus on that unless it's either interupted by something or I decide to change what I'm focusing on or how I feel. I've been experimenting with meditating or sitting comfortably with music and focusing on positive things from the past or what I want in my life and it does help. Sometimes though I can't seem to change the focus and the program just keeps playing out over and over again.
